woah! a blog for my jams? neato!! but jeez, a lot of music got taken already (that means you all got great taste ;)) but ill request the original His World version. okay keep on rockin guys!
Thank you for your praise! We’ve been keepin’ on for about almost five months now, isn’t that wild?
If you follow me on my personal, you’ll know that I love “His World” quite a bit. I love the opening violin riff, and that same riff that goes throughout, and then the acoustic guitar comes in and the rim tapping in the percussion, it’s an infectious sound for me! I even like the rapping in the middle, or at least I’ve gotten used to it. I’ve heard people say that the chorus sounds flat, as in flatly sung, and I’ll agree—it is a little bit, probably due to the nature of the melody, and the vocalists not doing much with the long note. I like how the distorted guitars work with the violins and the rest of the mix; it’s done very well! I find myself making up my own lines and harmonies to the chorus; it’s a lot of fun. I really love the guitar solo near the end; I’m partial to melodic solos rather than a lot of notes, and especially since it takes the chorus’ melody and plays with it. Then coming back around to the intro section again brings some intensity to the whole mix. The ending chord is beautiful, it’s a C#min7 with all the tensions on it, which creates a nice density to the end of the song. I’m so glad this was requested!
